REVIEW:

Ok, so here are the basics. Angela, the universe's most unpleasant party crasher, returns! Angela's sister, Mouse, is taken by her bullying Catholic school classmates to a party at Angela's favorite haunt, and before long, everybody's being turned into demons and only a butt-kickin' nun, who wields her ruler like a mighty sword of steel, can save the day.

Ok, with the lack of success of the first film, Angela rested in peace, but after the resurgence from the cult fan base this film had, in 1994 Angela returns to Hull House, and all the fans of Night of the Demons flock to the video stores to see what tricks were up her sleeves this time.

And it was not a disappointment.

The gore is bigger and better and so are the laughs.

This film is decidedly different in tone from the original. NOTD2 plays our more like a raunchy comedy than a scary demonic possession film. Amplified to maximum effect when some kids head is used in a game of basketball. While I love this kind of random humor, others may be put off by it.

There is a fine line between funny and stupid and this film is able to toe the line well.

Like the first film, at a young age, this is one that I woke up in the wee hours of the morning to check out on cable. And quickly became a steady rental for me while I was growing up.

A morbid side of me found Angela attractive…not in her looks but in her sadistic humorous ways. And I feel it is responsible for my very dark sense of humor that I have to this day.

As mentioned, the gore is well executed with the highlight being super-soakers filled with Holy Water. Those babies are quite good at turning demons into puddles of goop.

The icing on the cake, outside of several decapitations, is the giant serpent thing at the end of the film.

It is absolute ‘80s bad horror personified, but in the 90’s.

Of course, no review of a Demons movie would be complete without discussing the boob factor. NOTD2 supplies plenty of sweater puppies for your viewing pleasure and features the super-hot Christine Taylor. Yes, Ben Stiller’s wife.

No, she doesn’t take her top off, but this is the closest I can think we’ve gotten to date.

Overall, it’s a win-win-win if you got the “chest fever.”

Night of the Demons 2 melds the best of all the culty horror movies most gorehounds flock to. So, if you are looking for a great movie to watch this Halloween season, you can go wrong with Night of the Demons 2.

Well, that is going to wrap this up for me. I recommend this film to all horror fans out there. If you do not like a whole lot of cheese with your horror, stay far, far away from this film. Because that is the reason there are so many negative reviews of this film out there. The reviewers go at this film like they are reviewing the next Oscar nominated film...and that is totally fuckin' ridiculous. But all you gorehounds out there will have plenty to feast on with this film.

Till Next Time Kiddies…
