REVIEW:

Picking up immediately where the first film ended, Marybeth (now played by Danielle Harris) is attacked by Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), but manages to escape. Jack Cracker finds her, pulls her out of the river, and takes her back to his cabin.

After finding out her last name, he forces her to leave, telling her that if she wants help, she needs to see Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd).

Moments after she leaves, Jack views Shapiro's camcorder, which he found in the swamp. The footage shows Shapiro filming different topless women, including Misty and Jenna. After Jack finishes watching the video, he is killed by Victor Crowley, who gouges his intestines out and strangles him with them until he decapitates him.

That's enough of the story the you are going to get out of me. This is a film, that you need to see, if you want any more gory details. Hatchet 2 was a pleasant surprise to me when I heard it was coming out. Primarily because the first film took so long to come out, and then had a poor showing in theaters.

But the film had such a dedicated fan base, and was a success on the home video market, that Adam Green had planted his feet firmly in the horror garden, and things quickly started to grown.

This film take everything that I loved for that first film, and turns that bitch up to 11. The gore is bigger, and obviously the body count is much bigger. I love to see Kane as Victor get to take out these characters in even more grouesome ways each time. Just when you think it can't get any darker, oh it goes there.

With this film centering more on the Reverend Zombie character, I couldn't help but sit on the edge of my seat and pretty much have a fanboy-gasm. I mean, I know it isn't Jason, but it is Kane Hodder, so I couldn't help but see, Jason vs Candyman throughout the entirety of this film.

Danielle Harris give us a performance that we all come to expect from the Scream Queen. Every horror film she is in, I have to see, because it give it that much more credibility to me. Hatchet 2 feeds us horror fans everything you want. Laughs, screams, nudity, and of course, buckets and buckets of gore.

This is going to be one of my shorter videos, and not because the film isn't worth more. Is because I've said it all. Anything more would only be pandering the film, and it doesn't need that.

Check it out if you are a slasher guru, you won't be disappointed.
